Cyprus is an island country in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, east of Greece, south of Turkey, west of Syria, Lebanon, northwest of Israel and north of Egypt. Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, and a member state of the European Union.
CYPRUS INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY
Cyprus International University was established in 1997. It was immediately recognised by YÖK (Turkish Higher Educational Board) and was included into the student selection and placement system by obtaining equality for all of its faculties and departments.
Cyprus International University gives the students the chance to be trained at the biggest private institutions of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, to help their theoretical knowledge to merge with the practical abilities.

The Cyprus University of Technology was founded by law on December 2003 and welcomed its first students on September 2007.
Cyprus University of Technology is based at the city of Limassol, where four out of five faculties are located. The Faculty of Health Sciences, which includes the Department of Nursing, is located in Nicosia.

European University Cyprus developed out of Cyprus College, which was founded in 1961 by Ioannis Gregoriou. The purpose was to provide a well-rounded education of high caliber, so that students would acquire the necessary academic and practical knowledge in their fields of study. A major development in the College’s history took place in 2000, when programs of study leading to Diploma, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees were accredited by the Accreditation Council (SEKAP) of the Republic of Cyprus.

Frederick University was established after a decision by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus in September 2007. The University, responding to the challenge set by the relevant law in 2005 that allowed for the establishment of private universities in Cyprus submitted an application and after a thorough and meticulous evaluation by the Evaluation Committee for Private Universities was amongst the first private universities to be granted license of operation.
Frederick University functions from two locations; one in Nicosia, the capital city of Cyprus, and another in Limassol, the second largest city and main port of the island. Both campuses provide modern facilities designed to meet the academic, research, social and recreational needs of the University community that, in spite of the growing number of students and faculty, remains focused on the individual, its needs and aspirations.
Frederick University Cyprus academic structure comprises six Schools in different academic fields. Schools are organised into Departments each of which offers a number of Programs of Study. The University of Cyprus was founded in 1989 and admitted its first students in 1992. It was founded in response to the growing intellectual needs of the Cypriot people, and is well placed to fulfil the numerous aspirations of the country.
University of Cyprus first opened its doors to students, the incoming class consisted of 486 undergraduate students. During the academic year 2010-2011, 4691 undergraduate students attended courses offered by the 21 departments. At the same time, there were 1549 postgraduate students
